IF YOU’RE ON Facebook at all, you’ve probably noticed that people LOVE warning other people about potential scammers, dodgy-looking folks, and all sorts of dirty dealings.
“Don’t talk to the man in the white van!” they bleat. “He’s a hacker and he’ll say he’s there to lay down flooring but then he’ll steal all your money and then you’ll be dead! Pass it on!!” That sort of thing.
Well, this woman had a pretty excellent response to all of that carry on.
Last week, Ann-Marie Kelly from Kilkenny posted an ‘urgent’ warning to the people of her local area to watch out for two men going around knocking on doors.
She wrote:
***WARNING!!!***
These two men are going around the Johnswell area knocking on doors, claiming to be from Kilkenny County Council and asking for entry to your home, to check your taps for possible leaks! Do NOT let them in, they are NOT from Kilkenny County Council! They are burglars! PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS AS THEY ARE DANGEROUS!
She helpfully included a picture of the two so-called burglars:
Let’s just say you wouldn’t want to be home alone if they’re in town. And the ‘checking taps for leaks’ bit? Inspired, Ann-Marie. Inspired.
The post has been shared hundreds of times and while most people are saying they’ll get on to Kevin to sort them out, her joke is soaring over quite a few heads.
We think it’s an excellent service you’re providing Ann-Marie. Keep up the good work.
